Bishop McGuinness senior Ashleigh Chiaf defeated Edmond North's Ann Pepper 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles championship to give the Irish the team championship at the Edmond Tournament on Wednesday. The match was literally winner-take-all as the Irish and Huskies were guaranteed a one-two finish with the winner taking home the crown.

“This was a real big win for our girls,” coach Vicki Connelly said. “They worked real hard, and it was a grind.”

The Irish also received a No. 2 singles championship from Trinian O'Neil. Enid won both of the doubles titles.
