High school notebook: Dual state wrestling pairings announced

Claremore will be the site for the Classes 6A and 5A championships. Cushing High will host the 4A and 3A duals.

Garrett Duncan had four championships to lead the Huskies, winning the 200 individual medley, the 100 breast stroke and was part of two winning relay teams.

PIEDMONT SWIMMERS WIN CONFERENCE HONORS

Piedmont swimmers Kasey Rein and Conner St. John both were named the Most Valuable Swimmers at Thursday's Suburban Conference Swim Championships in Harrah.

Rein broke conference records in winning the girls' 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle. She was named the conference's Most Valuable Female Swimmer for the third straight year.

St. John won the boys 200 individual medley and set the conference record in winning the 100 breast stroke.

Carl Albert's girls won the team title led by Anna Lukamek, who won the 200 freestyle and was a member of the Titans' 400 freestyle relay. Shawnee's boys won the team title as Mark Roselius won the 50 and 100 freestyle and anchored the Wolves' winning 200 freestyle relay.

FOUR PC NORTH PLAYERS COMMIT

Four Putnam City North football players have decided on their college futures, highlighted by a pair of offensive linemen heading to NAIA schools.

Christian Glocke verbally committed to Northwestern Oklahoma State during a visit to the Alva campus over the weekend. And Matt Custard has committed to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.

In addition, defensive end Eric Sadler and running back Tae Moore will sign with one of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M junior college in Miami on Wednesday.

COMMIT ROUNDUP

Westmoore's Jhames West and Josh Morgan have both committed to East Central. Also, Jaguars offensive lineman Nick Hardaway will walk on to OU. ... Sequoyah-Tahlequah receiver/defensive back Niko Hammer will walk on at Oklahoma State. Indians offensive lineman Myhayv Locust will sign with UCO. ... Hennessey's Trevor Dowell will sign with Southwestern Oklahoma State as a kicker/punter. ... Norman running back Imond Robinson is expected to sign with Arkansas Tech. ... Mustang's Hunter Baskett will sign with SNU. ... Muskogee offensive lineman Dexter McGriff committed to Navy.
