The bracket was set Monday for the dual state wrestling championships Saturday in Claremore and Cushing.
Claremore High School will be the site for the 6A and 5A championships while Cushing High School will host the 4A and 3A duals.
In 6A, the opening-round duals are Edmond North-Sapulpa, Union-Westmoore, Broken Arrow-Midwest City and Southmoore-Muskogee. The first round duals will be at 10 a.m. with the semifinals at 2 p.m. and the championship dual at 6:30.
In 5A, the first round duals will be Lawton MacArthur-Grove, Duncan-Shawnee, Collinsville-Deer Creek and Altus-Coweta. The duals start at noon with the semifinals at 2 p.m. and the finals at 6:30.
In 4A, it will be Tuttle-Bristow, Locust Grove-Blackwell, Vinita-Weatherford and Piedmont-Wagoner. The duals are at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6:30.
In 3A, the pairings are Newkirk-Cascia Hall, Berryhill-Little Axe, Perry-Geary and Plainview-Vian. The duals will be at noon, 2 p.m. and 6:30.
CONFERENCE SWIMMING CHAMPIONS
Both Norman North boys and girls swim teams captured the Mid-State Conference championship Saturday at Oklahoma City Community College while Edmond North's boys and girls' squads won the Metro Conference titles.
Justin Wu and Tomas Elder of Norman North each won four titles. Wu set a conference record in winning the 200-yard freestyle and also captured 100-yard backstroke.
Elder won the 50 and 100 freestyle. Both were members of the Timberwolves winning 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay, which set a conference record.
Freshman Madie Sarantakos won four titles for Lady Timberwolves, capturing the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. She also was a member of two winning relay teams, the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.
For Edmond North, Ally Robertson won the 200 freestyle, setting a conference record, and was a member of three winning relay teams along with Abbie Imes and Rylee Linhardt.
Jess Graro also was a member of the 200 medley relay for Edmond North that set a conference record. Ann-Marie Stowe was the other member of the Lady Huskies winning 200 freestyle relay.
Imes also won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly while Linhardt captured the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.
Garrett Duncan had four championships to lead the Huskies, winning the 200 individual medley, the 100 breast stroke and was part of two winning relay teams.
PIEDMONT SWIMMERS WIN CONFERENCE HONORS
Piedmont swimmers Kasey Rein and Conner St. John both were named the Most Valuable Swimmers at Thursday's Suburban Conference Swim Championships in Harrah.
Rein broke conference records in winning the girls' 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard freestyle. She was named the conference's Most Valuable Female Swimmer for the third straight year.
St. John won the boys 200 individual medley and set the conference record in winning the 100 breast stroke.
Carl Albert's girls won the team title led by Anna Lukamek, who won the 200 freestyle and was a member of the Titans' 400 freestyle relay. Shawnee's boys won the team title as Mark Roselius won the 50 and 100 freestyle and anchored the Wolves' winning 200 freestyle relay.
FOUR PC NORTH PLAYERS COMMIT
Four Putnam City North football players have decided on their college futures, highlighted by a pair of offensive linemen heading to NAIA schools.
Christian Glocke verbally committed to Northwestern Oklahoma State during a visit to the Alva campus over the weekend. And Matt Custard has committed to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
In addition, defensive end Eric Sadler and running back Tae Moore will sign with one of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M junior college in Miami on Wednesday.
Westmoore's Jhames West and Josh Morgan have both committed to East Central. Also, Jaguars offensive lineman Nick Hardaway will walk on to OU. ... Sequoyah-Tahlequah receiver/defensive back Niko Hammer will walk on at Oklahoma State. Indians offensive lineman Myhayv Locust will sign with UCO. ... Hennessey's Trevor Dowell will sign with Southwestern Oklahoma State as a kicker/punter. ... Norman running back Imond Robinson is expected to sign with Arkansas Tech. ... Mustang's Hunter Baskett will sign with SNU. ... Muskogee offensive lineman Dexter McGriff committed to Navy.
