The new era of high school swimming in Edmond is set to begin Thursday evening.

The Edmond city championship swim meet will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the city's new YMCA at Mitch Park, which is scheduled to open to the public on Feb. 3.

The Edmond Aquatic Center offers the Oklahoma City metro area another state-of-the-art location for high school events.

The OSSAA has chosen the new pool as the host site for next month's Class 5A and 6A west regional meets. And it will host the state meet for both classes as well.

DUNCAN LINEMAN PICKS HENDERSON ST.

Duncan offensive lineman Daniel Moore found his college home this week.

The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Moore verbally committed to Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Last season, Henderson State had two Oklahoma players on its roster, Blake Biggs from Yukon and Sam Johnson from Sapulpa.
