Putnam City West has already found its next football coach, and now the school is searching for a new athletic director.
John Jensen, who held both positions at PC West for the last five years, was removed as football coach in March, but had originally planned to stay on as the school's athletic director.
Instead, he's moving on, accepting an assistant coaching position at Casady under head coach Koby Scoville.
Jensen's son will attend Casady as well, and the coach is also moving into a new phase in his career. He will be helping to oversee the Cube, the athletic facility at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany.
“They have a $4 million athletic complex with basketball courts, a weight room, everything you would want. And it's free,” Jensen said. “It's a good situation, and I'll still get to see a lot of the kids from PC West.”
CHRISTIANSEN, EDMONDS SETTLE IN AT SAN FRANCISCO
Matt Christansen and Joe Edmonds didn't have a lot of time to sit back and relax after graduating from McGuinness last month.
Four days after walking across the stage, both were headed west to get started at the University of San Francisco.
“It's been unbelievable,” said Christiansen, who returned to Oklahoma briefly to play in the Faith 7 Basketball Bowl earlier this month. “They're putting us to work already. We've been lifting or testing just about every day. It was a fast transition.
