New Texas Tech coach Klilff Kingsbury and his staff are working hard on the Oklahoma recruiting trail.
The Red Raiders landed their third Oklahoma prospect Thursday night when Lawton defensive tackle Ivan Thomas announced his verbal commitment on Twitter.
Thomas, 6 feet, 265 pounds, has spent most of the last two seasons as a running back, but has shown that those quick and powerful skills translate to the defensive line as well. Thomas, who also had an offer from Kansas State, was rated No. 26 on The Oklahoman's Super 30 recruiting list for the class of 2014.
Millwood receiver Cameron Batson and Douglass offensive lineman Mildren Montgomery have also committed to Texas Tech.
Thomas becomes the state's 15th player committed to an NCAA Division I FBS program, 10 of whom are committed to teams from BCS conferences — eight in the Big 12 and one each in the SEC and Pac-12.
