Edmond Memorial sprinter Bryce Robinson was named Oklahoma Gatorade Boys Track Athlete of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.

A virtual newcomer to the sport last winter, Robinson excelled from the moment he touched the track.

The Tulsa signee concluded the year with four gold medals as part of Edmond Memorial's team championship at the Class 6A state meet. Individually, he won the 100 meters in 10.47 seconds and 200 meters in a state meet-record time of 21.02, along with two relay victories.

Robinson's best overall 100-meter time was 10.41, matching the best electronically timed 100 in the state this year, along with Coyle's Magnus Scott.

On Wednesday, Douglass sprinter Madison Reynolds won the girls award.
