High school notebook: Tuttle's running game, defense are potent

“We've been pretty spoiled here the last few years,” Snyder said of having Clark.

Snyder is rotating the quarterbacks from series to series.

“We're trying to take advantage of their strengths,” he said. “I don't think it's too bad when you go from series to series, it can get bad when you're switching them out in the middle of a series.”

The Chieftains play at McLoud on Friday.


Two players turned in stunning performances Friday night, matching each other with seven touchdowns apiece.

Cushing running back Gage Stallworth carried 34 times for 245 yards and six touchdowns, adding a receiving TD to finish with 277 total yards, in Cushing's 48-36 win over Perry.

Garber got seven touchdowns from Jordan Avants, with five coming on the ground and two through the air. He also added a couple of two-point conversions in Garber's 50-22 win over Waukomis.
