Cashion rallies to win
Cashion once again made its fans sweat while remaining unbeaten in Class A-2.

The Wildcats, who beat Watonga 40-33 last week, scored two second-half touchdowns Friday to beat the No. 2 team in their district, 10th-ranked Oklahoma Christian.

Jeremy Seaton scored both TDs for Cashion (8-0, 6-0), on 1-yard runs in the third and fourth quarters. That allowed the Wildcats to pull ahead of OCS, which had gotten a 43-yard TD pass from Jack Warren to Zach Frankfurt and a 13-yard field goal by Keegan Coulter.

Seaton completed 12 of 23 passes for 144 yards. Cashion held OCS (6-2, 4-2) to seven yards rushing.

Shattuck ties victory record
Shattuck made it known early in Friday’s game that it would be tying the national record for consecutive victories in eight-man football.

Aaron McCandless and Brent Starbuck each scored twice in a 32-point first quarter and Shattuck, ranked No. 1 in Class C, went on to a 46-32 victory over Sharon-Mutual.

It was the Indians’ 90th straight win, which ties Morrison for the national mark. Shattuck goes for the outright record next week against Goodwell. The Indians’ last loss was to Pond Creek-Hunter, in their final game of the 2002 season.

Tecumseh holds off Seminole
The box score would lead you to believe Seminole beat Tecumseh. Tecumseh wound up with the one stat that mattered most: the final score.

Kyle Fowler threw for a touchdown and ran for another as the Savages beat Seminole 19-14. With the win, they improved to 6-1 overall, 4-1 in Class 4A-2.

Seminole (3-5, 2-3) had eight more first downs than Tecumseh, outgained the Savages 336-185 and had half as many penalty yards. The Chieftans did have three fumbles, however, and Tecumseh had none.

Chris Wolfe had 30 carries for 122 yards for Tecumseh.

Davis leads Elk City
In a game Elk City had to win Friday night, quarterback Will Davis came through in the clutch against Woodward.

Davis, who had been shaken up earlier, returned and threw a 36-yard TD pass to Zach Mattox with 1:06 remaining to give the Elks a 16-14 victory. Elk City (4-4, 4-1) is now tied with Bishop McGuinness for second place in District 4A-1.

Davis and Mattox had also connected for the Elks’ first touchdown, a 10-yarder in the second quarter.
