High school soccer: Breaking down the playoff matchups

Taking a look at the soccer playoff pairings for Classes 6A-4A.

Soccer playoff pairings

Class 6A Girls

Tuesday's Games (west side only)

Bishop McGuinness (7-2) at Edmond North (11-2), 6 p.m.: Third-ranked Edmond North is riding a seven-game winning streak entering the playoffs.

Putnam City North (9-4) at Edmond Memorial (11-2), 6 p.m.: Karla Cabello leads the Lady Panthers with 22 goals. Edmond Memorial tied Norman North for district title but lost head-to-head meeting and got No. 2 seed. Leading scorer is Lisa Robinson, who has signed with Oklahoma.

Southmoore (8-5) at Norman North (10-2), 6 p.m.: A rematch of a season opener won by Norman North, 2-0.

Mustang (9-4) at Norman (9-3), 6 p.m.: Lexi Jones leads Lady Broncos with 15 assists while Alina Magruder has nine goals.

Class 6A Boys

Westmoore (6-7) at Edmond North (11-2), 8 p.m.: Trevor Moore leads top-ranked Edmond North with 15 goals. Chris Ong and Francisco Arvizo are Westmoore's top scorers.

Edmond Santa Fe (10-3) at Edmond Memorial (10-3), 8 p.m.: Senior defender Austin Place is Santa Fe's best player. Senior defender Sam Arnold and goal keeper Evan Helker were the big reasons the Bulldogs allowed just one goal in final six district games, all Edmond Memorial wins. Santa Fe won regular season meeting in a 1-0 shootout.

Yukon (8-6) at Norman North (10-3), 8 p.m.: Defending state champion Norman North's all three losses this season have been in shootouts. Junior Mauro Cichero of Norman North is considered by many the best player in the state. Yukon's top scorer is LondN Khamphanthala

Bishop McGuinness (6-4) at Norman (12-1), 8 p.m.: Norman's only loss of the season was 1-0 to Edmond North. Tigers' goal keeper Andrew Arledge has six shutouts and Matt Hockett leads the team in scoring with eight goals.

Class 5A Girls

Lawton MacArthur (5-5) at Deer Creek (10-3), 5 p.m.: Lauren Haivala and Sophia Brazil lead Deer Creek in scoring with a combined 24 goals.

Heritage Hall (8-5) at Chickasha (10-3), 5 p.m.: Seniors Kelsey Taylor and Hannah Elrod lead the Chickasha attack. Baillie Miller has scored 22 goals for Heritage Hall.
