OSSINING, NY — An Ossining High School math teacher who was supposed to be getting married Friday instead was arrested and charged with raping a 16-year-old female student, according to The Journal News.

John M. Azabache, 31, of Port Chester, NY was charged with third-degree rape. He surrendered at Ossining Town Court on Friday afternoon.

With the wedding off, Azabache’s only “I do” Friday came during his arraignment, when Justice Nancy Quinn Koba asked whether he understood the order of protection she issued to keep Azabache away from his not-to-be bride.
