High school track and field: Athletes to watch for the 2013 season

Josiah Hunter, Edmond Santa Fe: Coming over from basketball's postseason run, Hunter has a chance to threaten the 7-foot mark in the high jump.

Kaden Jackson, Kingfisher: Came on strong as a freshman to win shot put at 3A state.

Chris Lowery, Chandler: Heads into his senior season as one of the state's top distance runners.

Colin Pasque and Mackenzie Wahpepah-Harris, Norman: Both were state champions as juniors. Wahpepah-Harris had a breakout year in the distance events, and Pasque is one of the state's top pole vaulters.

Alex Shook, Edmond Memorial: A contender in the mid-to-long distances the last three years, ready for a strong senior season.

Cheyenne Choate, Hennessey: Another of several distance runners who have been challenging for medals

Emily Helms, Mustang: The distance specialist is bound for Oklahoma State in the fall.

Audrianna Morgan, Centennial: Only a junior, Morgan has been dominant in the 100 and 200 the last two years.

Jasmine Robinson, Shawnee: A standout hurdler looking to close her career strong.

Katy Whitekiller, Purcell: Set the 4A state meet record in the pole vault at 12 feet, 3 inches as a junior.

Tyler Wisby, Edmond Santa Fe: Now a senior, Wisby has been one of the state's best 400-meter runners since her freshman year.

Schuyler Wood, Putnam City: Primed for a big junior season as a sprinter and jumper.

Haley Woodard, Norman North: Surprised as a freshman last spring, edging Wisby at the line to win state in the 400.
