Shattuck going for record
If Shattuck beats Goodwell tonight, it would be the Indians’ 91st consecutive win, giving Shattuck the national eight-man record for most consecutive wins. Last week, Shattuck beat Sharon-Mutual to tie the record previously held by Morrison. Here’s a look at some of the top streaks all-time in the state:

CROSS COUNTRY
→McGuinness: The Irish’s girls team won 11 consecutive state titles from 1992-2002. Overall, McGuinness has won 16 of 18 Class 4A titles since 1990.
BASEBALL
→Capitol Hill: The Redskins won 66 consecutive games from 1952-54, setting a national record. The streak is still the fourth-longest in the nation.
BASKETBALL
→Bethel: The Lady Wildcats made 12 consecutive state tournament appearances before the streak ended in 2008.
FOOTBALL
→Douglass: The Trojans were undefeated in seven consecutive seasons from 1949-55. The streak is still tied for second longest nationally in 11-man.
→Morrison: Morrison won 90 consecutive games from 1985-95 to set a national record. Another long streak is likely to come to an end this season for the Wildcats. Morrison has made the playoffs every season since 1986.
→Tulsa Union: The Redskins have won 83 consecutive district games heading into tonight’s game against U.S. Grant.
TENNIS
→Jenks: The Trojans boys team won 10 consecutive state titles from 1991-2000. The 1994 title was shared with Enid.
→McGuinness: McGuinness has won 11 consecutive girls tennis titles since 1999.
WRESTLING
→El Reno: The Indians won 11 consecutive wrestling titles from 1996-2006.
→Perry: The Maroons won 11 consecutive wrestling state titles from 1971-81. They also hold the national record with 36 state titles.
