Edmond North came back to beat Norman later Wednesday and will play U.S. Grant in an elimination game at noon Thursday.

The winner would have to beat Edmond Santa Fe twice to earn a state tournament berth.

Nunley was dealing with the issue from both sides Wednesday after Claremore had to forfeit its second game after beating Edmond Memorial in the regional opener due to a similar issue.

“I appreciate the staff of the OSSAA and the patrons of Edmond,” Nunley said. “And my respect and admiration goes out to the Edmond North girls. It speaks a lot of those kids' character that they were able to perform the way they were.

“We'll do better in the future.”
