High schools: Moore blanks Jenks, Jennifer White returns to state tournament with Tuttle

“I threw a lot of off-speed and kept them off balance,” Lynn said. “That's pretty much what kept me in the game, that and my screwball. Those are my bread and butter.”

Moore coach Stephanie Riley said as Lynn goes, so does the Lions.

“Jenna Lynn is definitely our catalyst,” Riley said. “When she is on, everything good happens.”

Lynn's older sister, Katie Lynn, pitched Moore to a state championship in 2008.

“I pretty much learned all my pitching from her,” Lynn said. “She taught me all my spin. By growing up watching her, I kind of already knew the game before I played it.”

WHITE GETS FIRST STATE TOURNEY WIN AS A COACH

It was a successful return to ASA Hall of Fame Stadium for Tuttle coach Jennifer White.

When Jerry Bates stepped down three weeks ago as Tuttle's coach, White was promoted from the junior high program to become the head coach.

White, sister of Heisman Trophy winner Jason White, was a two-time high school All-American at Tuttle and was a member of three state championship teams.

In her first game in the state tournament as a head coach, her Tigers defeated Purcell, 3-1.

“It is really a different feeling,” White said. “As a coach, I think you are just proud of the girls.”
