Holdenville man killed in weather-related wreck

HOLDENVILLE — A Holdenville man died early today in a crash north of Holdenville in Hughes County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Rubin Rodriguez, 33, was driving a car southbound on State Highway 48 when the car veered off the roadway on a snow-covered embankment and hit a concrete culvert, troopers said. The car rolled 1 1/2 times, and Rodriguez was pinned inside.

A passenger with head injuries was treated and released at a Holdenville hospital, the patrol reported.

Both men were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
