Here’s a recap of the week in metro news.
Holidays. The Downtown in December celebration began Friday night. Downtown in December is so spectacular that it cannot be contained by December any more.
Mayhem. Black Friday shoppers cram stores throughout the city. No one cares about you any more, Thanksgiving.
Sports. Mayor Mick Cornett’s fantasy football team in the Yahoo! Sports Mayoral Face-off falls to a 3-8 record — out of contention for the $15,000 prize. Maybe it’s best he left sports broadcasting to become mayor.
Sports. Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kyle Weaver is sent to the team’s developmental league team Nov. 21, only to be recalled Tuesday. Thunder management sends roses with a card reading, "We were wrong to break up with you, Kyle. Please come back.”
Wildlife. A man reports an alligator sighting at a pond in northwest Oklahoma City. An alligator reports a man sighting at the same pond.
Horses. The Krymsun Kruzer is named Superhorse at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship. Though beautiful and talented, the horse does not win the title of Superspeller.
Holy matrimony. U.S. Rep Mary Fallin, R-Oklahoma City, and Oklahoma City attorney Wade Christensen marry in Oklahoma City. Even if you don’t agree with her politics, you have to agree Fallin looked absolutely fabulous on her wedding day.
