WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — John Macomber kicked two field goals and Holy Cross' defense held Bucknell to just 145 total yards as the Crusaders defeated the Bison 13-6 on Saturday in a Patriot League matchup.

Holy Cross (1-4, 1-0) snapped a four-game losing streak and defeated the Bison for the seventh time in its last eight meetings.

Macomber converted from 18 yards out midway through the second quarter. After a Matt Bellomo touchdown run extended Holy Cross' lead to 10-0, Macomber connected from 22 yards out to put the game away.

The junior kicker has scored a team-high 22 points this season, hitting all five of his field goal attempts (including a long of 46) and all seven of his extra points.

Macomber also pinned Bucknell inside its own 20 on three of his six punts.

Bucknell (1-4, 0-2) struggled offensively, turning the ball over twice and committing seven penalties.
