Meetings

Larkspur Garden Club, Wednesday at the home of Pat Howe of Oklahoma City. Program is on herbs. Refreshments following meeting. Call 942-5788 for address.

Oklahoma Rose Society, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Will Rogers Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36. Program is on “Summer Care for Roses.” A “Little Rose Show” with an American Rose Society Rose Judge explaining how the entries were judged also will be included. Membership is not required to come.

Workshops

Flower design class, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Will Rogers Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36. Class is on “Fun with Flowers.” Sponsored by the Oklahoma City Council of Garden Clubs. For information, call 942-2534.

Junior Master Gardener workshop 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Oklahoma County Cooperative Extension Service, 930 N Portland. Children ages 9 to 12 who attend the one-day workshop will learn the basics of growing a variety of plants, including flowers, vegetables and trees. Preregistration cost is $15. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch. For more information contact the Oklahoma County Cooperative Extension Service at 713-1125.

Oklahoma Nursery and Landscape Association Greenhouse Production Short Course, June 20 and 21, OSU Agriculture Resource Center, 400 N Portland. Ten sessions in two days include tours and hands-on demonstrations. Keynote speaker is Jim Nau of Ball Horticulture. Registration is $80 to $200 and includes all course supplies, field trip to TLC Florist & Greenhouse and dinner. For information email the association at info@oknla.org or call 945-6737.

2012 Master Gardener program, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Thursday, Aug. 23 through Nov. 8, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, 601 E. Robinson, Norman. The Cleveland County Extension office is accepting registration for the 2012 Master Gardener program. Cost is $100 per person, which supplies each student with a soil test, several detailed educational manuals, as well as research-based information provided by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. Events

Fred A. Barkley branch of the American Begonia Society's annual plant sale, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Will Rogers Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36. Hundreds of plants representing the major types of begonias will be offered for sale. Branch members will be available during the sale to answer questions. Call 390-4228.
