INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — After spending an entire offseason revamping the defense, the Indiana Hoosiers are ready to face their first big test Saturday.
On paper, Indiana State might not look like much of a measuring stick. The Sycamores, a Football Championship Subdivision team, were a one-win team in 2013. But they did put up 35 points against the Hoosiers, even with their top playmaker missing more than a half because of an injury.
That game proved to be a harbinger of a historically bad season for Indiana.
So the Hoosiers are hoping a better showing against Indiana State this year might be the start of something big, perhaps even their first bowl bid in seven years.
