Hoover Dam, The Alamo, Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty and... ‘the Craighead Caverns’ top the 100 Greatest Places To Stand in the USA?

JUNE 10. LONDON. Following the first full month of voting to decide The Greatest Place To Stand in the United States, the early indications suggest that there may be some surprises in what the World thinks are the USA’s greatest locations.

The Top Ten is emblazoned with US ‘stars’ such as the Hoover Dam, Empire State Building, Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty, Grand Canyon, etc, but some of the lesser known locations are making a good showing - most notably The Lost Sea at Craighead Caverns in Tennessee, which briefly took the top spot.

At the other end of the list it appears that Plymouth Rock and the controversial nomination of The Las Vegas Strip are being ignored by voters.

Voting runs thru until the start of December when the winners will be announced.

Voters are also being persuaded to add a photo of themselves to the lists if they have actually been to any of the locations.
