Peja joins team on road trip
Injured Hornets guard Peja Stojakovic, who is recovering from back surgery, is on the road trip and took some shots prior to Monday morning's shootaround inside Arco Arena.

Standing roughly 17-20 feet away and making his way inside the 3-point arc, Stojakovic did not jump and essentially shot using only his arms.

Stojakovic gingerly took 49 shots. He made 41 of them, and all but three of the shots he made swished cleanly through the net.

•Riding time: Hornets forward and avid horseman Marc Jackson, who played a key role for the Hornets when David West was out with an elbow injury, has been riding the bench and had not played in six straight games before Monday's game at Sacramento.

Backup rookie forward Cedric Simmons hadn't played in nine straight games and had played just one minute in the last 12.

Asked when the two might see some playing time, Hornets coach Byron Scott said, "I don't know. To be honest with you I'm not really thinking about that. That's not really a concern because of the way we've been playing with the other guys.”

•Viva Las Vegas: Scott excelled with his NFL predictions, correctly picked four of the last five NFL playoff games.

Indianapolis beat Chicago 29-17 in Super Bowl XLI. Scott picked the Colts to win, 28-20.
