Horse shows play a vital role in Oklahoma City’s economy

In 2011, Oklahoma City’s State Fair Arena hosted 22 horse shows with 787,758 visitors.

Oklahoma City prides itself on being the horse show capital of the world. City officials do not want that to ever change.

The equine industry plays a vital role in the city’s economy is important that can’t be understated, said Michael Carrier, president of the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau.
