Hot days ahead in Oklahoma before a Labor Day cool down

Temperatures are soaring in Oklahoma through Saturday night. Then a chance of rain moves in Sunday and Labor Day will be a bit cooler.

Temperatures are getting hotter and hotter in Oklahoma, but Labor Day will be a bit cooler.

The high temperature in central Oklahoma Friday will be near 99 degrees, the National Weather Service reports. Then Saturday, expect a high over 100 degrees. Sunday and Monday will not be as hot.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99. South, southwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 76. South wind 3 to 6 mph.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 101. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear with a low around 76. South, southeast wind around 7 mph.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 94. South, southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 73.

Labor Day: Mostly sunny with a high near 91.

Monday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 70.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 90.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 66.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 94.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 68.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 94.
