Hot temperatures in central, western Oklahoma Sunday

Forecasters said weather conditions in central and western Oklahoma will be sunny and hot. Some cities might even have temperatures above 100 degrees.

Forecasters say Sunday will be a day of scorching temperatures for western and central Oklahoma.

The high temperature for Oklahoma City will be about 99 degrees. Surrounding cities will have temperatures rising above 100 degrees, and Woodward is expected to have a high of 105 Sunday, according to the National Weather Service Norman Forecast Office.

Meteorologists said skies will be sunny in Oklahoma City with south-southwest wind between 7 and 9 mph. The low for Sunday night is 72.

Due to the heat, forecasters recommend people limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water and wear light clothing and sunscreen.

Here's a look at the Oklahoma City forecast for the rest of the week:

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. Heat index values as high as 103. South wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 73. South wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. South southeast wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 73.

Wednesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 73.

Thursday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 75.

Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 74.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 98.
