Hot weather is ahead Tuesday in Oklahoma.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s in central Oklahoma. Most of eastern Oklahoma is under a heat advisory, the National Weather Service reports. Temperatures are expected to be 100 degrees in the Tulsa area with a heat index up to 109 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect in Tulsa from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, the weather service reports.
People are urged to limit outdoor activity and drink plenty of water.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy. A slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 70s. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 20 percent.
