GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Grand Rapids may reopen this weekend after being closed due to flooding since last month.

The hotel is part of the Plaza Towers complex. Residents of the 32-story riverfront apartment tower were allowed back in Wednesday. Plaza Towers was closed April 20 as flood waters entered the basement, swamping the building's electrical systems.

Amway Hotel Corp. President Rick Winn oversees the 214-room hotel and tells ( ) that reservations were transferred to other area hotels. Affected Courtyard by Marriott employees worked at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the JW Marriott, which Winn also oversees.

The flooding lasted from April 9 through late last week and saw the Grand River through Grand Rapids reach record heights.
