House fire causes $1 million loss in southwest Oklahoma City

A fire Monday night destroyed a southwest Oklahoma City home. The loss was $1 million, and the cause is under investigation.

The cause of a fire that burned down a large home in southwest Oklahoma City Monday night remains under investigation.

About 6:45 p.m. Monday firefighters went to 12800 SW 58, where a 4,000 square foot house was burning. The house was a total loss. Damage was estimated about $1 million for the home and its contents, said fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof, then the roof collapsed, Stanaland said.

There were no injuries reported. Stanaland said no one was home at the time of the fire.
