WASHINGTON — In an election year expected to be perilous for many incumbents, House members from Oklahoma have stashed significant cash.

Only Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Cheyenne, had less than $500,000 in the bank last week, while Rep. Dan Boren, D-Muskogee, had nearly $1.2 million.

Most of the candidates who registered to run against the five Oklahoma incumbents have not reported financial activity to the Federal Election Commission. Candidates do not have to file a financial report unless they have raised or spent $5,000 on their campaigns.

But a Tulsa businesswoman is serious about mounting a campaign against Republican Rep. John Sullivan, R-Tulsa.

Georgianna Oliver, a Democrat who once worked on Capitol Hill, raised nearly $21,000 through July 9 and then put $66,000 of her own money into the campaign this week.

In Lucas' district, retired civil engineer Frankie Robbins, a Democrat, raised nearly $14,000.

Primary elections in Oklahoma are July 29.
