Houston Astros will be rare sight on TV

Astros' new network, Comcast SportsNet Houston, has not been picked up by satellite distributors

St. Louis Cardinals

Fox Sports Midwest is carrying 150 Cardinals games this season. Most of those games will be available on Fox Sports Plus (Cox 68 and 715), including the season opener at Arizona at 8 p.m. Monday.

Dan McLaughlin is back to handle the play-by-play, with Rick Horton covering a few games. Al Hrabosky and Horton are the analysts.

Kansas City Royals

Fox Sports Kansas City is broadcasting 140 Royals games this season. About 30 games will air on Fox Sports Plus, including the season opener at Chicago at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Play-by-play announcer Steve Physioc and analyst Rex Hudler are back for their second season. The pair also had worked together with the Angels. Ryan Lefebvre also will call a few games.

Chicago Cubs

With talk the Cubs might leave WGN after the 2014 season for a better TV deal, Cubs fans might want to savor the next two seasons of the national broadcasts. WGN plans to carry 67 Cubs games, beginning with season opener at Pittsburgh at 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Jim Deshaies, a former Astros announcer and major league pitcher, has replaced Bob Brenly as analyst, working with Len Kasper. Brenly has returned to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Chicago White Sox

WGN also will air 30 White Sox games. Ken “Hawk” Harrelson and Steve Stone, a former White Sox pitcher, return for their fifth season together in the booth.
