DEL CITY — Police say a shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead has stunned a normally quiet Del City neighborhood.

Anthony Parker of Oklahoma City was shot to death in the driveway of a vacant home at 4308 Epperly Drive just after midnight Thursday, police said.

According to police, Parker and a young woman were sitting in a car when he was approached by two teenagers, said police Capt. Jody Suit.

The teens ordered Parker to hand over his wallet and forced the girl to undress. They then shot Parker, said Suit.

The teens, believed to be 14 and 18 years old, fled on foot, according to Suit.

The officer said police are trying to determine if the shooting is gang-related.

Relative says couple were dating
Relatives of the young woman, who asked not to be identified, said the couple had only recently begun dating.

The young woman was taken to an area hospital for precautionary care, Suit said.

Meanwhile, late Thursday, residents of the neighborhood voiced their concerns about the incident.

Most residents said the neighborhood is usually peaceful, so much so that kids shuffling home from nearby Townsend Elementary are the only ones walking around in the street.

"I guess this shows that this kind of stuff can happen anywhere,” said neighbor Mary Opalenick, 86.
