The movie "Thunderstruck" originally was called "Switch," until there actually was a switch.

Given that Kevin Durant is the focus of the movie and the Thunder is fresh off making the NBA Finals, the name "Thunderstruck" is a much better fit.

Sticking with the initial "Switch" title lacked originality and might have caused some confusion.

There was a 1991 comedy by Blake Edwards called "Switch," starring Ellen Barkin, Jimmy Smits and JoBeth Williams.

There was 1963 British crime film called "The Switch" and a 2010 American comedy with Jennifer Aniston also called "The Switch" that received horrible reviews.

"It's gone through a couple of names, which is very common," producer Mike Karz said at the "Thunderstruck" premiere Sunday night. "We were on the set and a writer of the movie said, 'Hey, why don't we call it Thunderstruck? And there you go."
