How they built the Texas SkyScreamer

Seven piers were placed at least 70 feet below ground level to help support the ride. The pier cap is at least eight feet high and 20 feet by 20 feet wide. This process is an exact science because the embedded piers are what the ride is attached to and assure that it stands and stays straight. Once the pier cap was installed, it had to cure before the first portion of the ride was placed. The curing process took about 28 days. Once the pier cap cured, the first visual piece of the ride was erected on April 9. The first 10 piers of the ride are 40 feet tall each and together weigh 110,000 pounds.
