How to become a falconer

Falconers must be licensed, and there are three classifications: apprentice, general and master.

To become a falconer, a person must serve a two-year apprenticeship with an experienced falconer.

Obtaining a license requires passing a written examination on state and federal laws for handling the birds and having a facility to house the birds that passes state and federal inspection.
