Agency's fundraiser continues

The Salvation Army still is holding its “Investing in Futures” fundraiser to finance the building of a new campus to be located at NW 10 and Pennsylvania, the location of the former AMC Flea Market. Construction workers are scheduled to break ground on the new facility this summer. The center, which will include the Command and a Chesapeake Energy Salvation Army “Center of Hope,” will house The Salvation Army's many community services, including its chapel, Family Services Center, Red Shield Kitchen & Dining Room, men's and women's shelters, food pantry and other services. The campus is planned to cover 26 acres.

Frank and Cathy Keating are campaign co-chairmen for “Investing in Futures.” So far, the campaign has raised $10.5 million. Another $4 million is needed.

Currently, The Salvation Army's Central Oklahoma Area Command is downtown on SW 5, in the area that is being razed for the construction of a central park as part of the city's Core to Shore program.
