Just how windy has it been the last two days?

Tuesday’s maximum wind gusts recorded by Oklahoma Mesonet weather network stations included:

61 mph at Medicine Park

58 mph at Porter

57 mph at Cheyenne.

And the maximum wind gusts so far today, since midnight, include:

62 mph at Medicine Park

61 mph at Walters

57 mph at Minco

The National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office’s forecast for today states, “Much cooler temperatures expected today, with afternoon highs in the 50s. Winds will not be as strong as those seen late Tuesday, but remain from the north through the day. Winds will be strongest during the morning hours, 20 to 30 mph, with a gradual decrease through the afternoon.”

Wildfire potential is “Very High” today, according to the National Weather Service, Norman:
