Hugo man killed in Choctaw County ATV wreck

A Hugo man died Sunday in an ATV wreck on private property near Hugo in Choctaw County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

HUGO — A Hugo man died Sunday at the scene of an all-terrain vehicle crash southwest of Hugo in Choctaw County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Billy Jack Hicks, 79, was driving the ATV south on a county road about 1:45 p.m. when he turned east onto a private driveway and ran into the back of a parked vehicle, troopers said. The ATV rolled and threw Hicks off.

Hicks was not wearing a helmet, the patrol reported. has disabled the comments for this article.
