Hurricane benefit scheduled

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Student nurses will host a benefit concert and a blood drive this weekend for people affected by the recent hurricanes in Louisiana and Mississippi.

"Giving to the Gulf" is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market event ballroom, 311 S Klein.

The benefit is sponsored by the Student Nurses Association at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City. Organizers say the event will be geared toward families.

Music will be provided by the Rexall Rangers, Pinkie & the SnakeShakers and the Wise Guys.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma.
