Crews worked Monday to unload two 20,000-pound steel beams in Edmond that were the first to be removed from the old Interstate 40 Crosstown bridge. The two 90-foot beams will be part of the Deer Creek flood control bridge project on MacArthur Boulevard near Covell Road.

There will be a total of 1,914 beams removed from I-40 to be repurposed in bridge projects across the state.
