PARIS (AP) — Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be sidelined for at least several weeks because of a thigh muscle tear and will miss the second leg of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League quarterfinal against Chelsea on Tuesday.
Ibrahimovic, who has scored 40 goals in 42 matches this season, likely would miss the semifinals if PSG advances. The French club won the first leg 3-1 and could reach the last four for the first time since 1995.
Ibrahimovic fell to the ground clutching his leg during the second half of Wednesday's game and limped off in the 68th minute.
PSG said in a statement Friday that tests confirmed "the presence of a muscle lesion" at the back of Ibrahimovic's right thigh.
