MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Idaho athletic director Rob Spear says he is disappointed the Vandals were not offered membership in the Mountain West Conference in the current round of sports league reshuffles.
He said Friday that Idaho is considering four options for its athletic programs.
The first is finding a major college conference for all its sports. Another is finding a conference just for the football program, with other sports in a separate conference. The third option is playing as an independent.
The final option is reviewing the feasibility of dropping to the Football Championship Subdivision.
Spear says the Mountain West indicated Idaho was in too small a television market for the league to be interested.
Spear says his top goal is to find an FBS conference for all Idaho sports.
