Barry Sanders hasn’t suffered anything remotely close to a sophomore slump for Heritage Hall. Sanders has been one of the reasons why Heritage has bounced back from an 0-3 start and has won five games in a row. Sanders has rushed for 1,230 yards and 15 touchdowns.
"Given your father’s stellar career at OSU, how receptive are you to being recruited by the University of Oklahoma?” – Robert Ferrier, Norman
"Yeah, they’re a great program. That would be a great place to play, especially if you want to win a national championship or be a title contender. I would definitely be open if they wanted to recruit me.”
"From the first game Barry Sr. played at OSU, it was obvious to many that he would win a Heisman Trophy. Writers have mentioned that you have many of his moves; do you think this is naturally in your genes or have you worked really hard todevelop and perfect them?” – John A Hirschlein, Stillwater
"I would say for the most part it’s natural. I do watch his films, so maybe it comes out in me watching it. But I would say for the most part it’s natural.”
"I would assume you had your choice of any number there is, but I’ve noticed you’ve stuck with No. 26. Why No. 26?” – James Jensen, Oklahoma City
For the most part,
Clinton Portis. That was the main reason. I think it’s a great number. It’s pretty original. Not too many people have it but me and him.
"Everyone knows everything about your father. How has your mother (Aletha House) shaped you as a person or even as a player?” — Ben Luschen
She’s a great supporter. Anything I do, she’s behind me 110 percent. Sure some people know she was a track runner in high school, so maybe I get some of my athletic abilities from her and her side of the family. But yeah, she’s been there since day 1 and she’s been a great help when my father hasn’t been here.
