Police also found a journal in the motel room.

One entry read, “Self Promote for the next 4 years while beginning list of goals written out in Oklahoma having to do with destroying and removing church buildings from U.S. a tiny bit at a time — setting foundation for the years to follow,” according to the arrest affidavit.

Police found a green military bag in a trash bin at the motel. The bag contained 50 brown glass bottles with gray duct tape attached and a funnel.

An unopened bottle of lighter fluid was found in the bin, and a 5-gallon red gas can was located nearby, the affidavit states.

In the motel room, police found receipts for those items and an empty 20-count case of beer, the affidavit states.

Tom Crowley, an ATF spokesman, said federal charges likely will be filed.
