You know what Dad really wants for Father’s Day this year are some cool new tools, so I've tracked down a few suggestions for you. They’re listed in order of average price, and can be found at most home centers, hardware stores, and other retailers, as well as online.

Milwaukee Shockwave 5-Piece Insert Magnetic Nut Drivers (49-66-4563, $17) and 11-Piece Knuckle Pivot Adapter Set (48-32-2301, $23.95):

The high torque of today’s popular impact drivers can twist standard bits, but Milwaukee’s Shockwave bits counteract that and last up to 10 times longer. The 1/4-inch shank Magnetic Nut Drivers are color-coded for quick identification; the Knuckle Pivot Adaptor can lock at a 30-degree angle for access to tight spots, and includes 10 common screwdriver tips.

Stanley Click ’N’ Connect 2-In-1 Storage System (STST19900, $24.99):

Great portable tool and parts organizer! Features a top box with two covered bins for small items, a lid that opens from either side or is completely removable, and a deep inner compartment with movable dividers. Clipped below that is a shallower bin with a clear top and moveable dividers, and they can be used separately or together.

Black & Decker Snakelight (BDCF4SL $28.95):

A very handy 4-volt rechargeable light with really bright LEDs that's great for the shop, garage, or any do-it-yourself project. The flexible neck rotates for precise positioning, and it can stand on its own or be wrapped around just about anything. Lithium battery holds a charge up to 18 months, and provides up to five hours of run time. Includes charger.

Craftsman MACH 3/8-inch Ratchet (44578, $49.99):

This ratchet is actually three tools in one: a 72-tooth ratchet that turns sockets 16 times faster with a 60-degree swing; a “push twisting” screwdriver; and a high-torque ratcheting screwdriver. The ratchet head pivots 180 degrees, and the Helix Drive Shaft locks to transform it into a standard socket wrench, with forward and reverse indicators marked on the handle.

Nelson LeakFree Starter Kit (500NSK, $59.97):

Here’s a nice quality hose and sprayer combo for all your do-it-yourself needs. Features a watertight leak-free connection and a built-in automatic shut off on the hose end, so you don't have to shut the water to change the “push and click” attachments. The complete starter kit includes 50 feet of heavy duty 5/8-inch Leak-Free Hose, faucet-to-hose adapter and a nice adjustable spray nozzle.
