NEW YORK — The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Upper Manhattan will be open from end to end for the first time since its restoration following a 2001 fire that damaged ancient tapestries and a 8,500-pipe organ. A rededication is planned for Sunday.

Oldest person dies at age 115

SHELBYVILLE, Ind.Edna Parker, who became the world’s oldest person more than a year ago, died Wednesday. She was 115 years, 220 days old. Parker was born April 20, 1893, in central Indiana.
