• HEALTH POST: Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle has accepted President-elect Barack Obama’s offer to be secretary of Health and Human Services, Democrats said Wednesday, though an appointment has not been announced.
• ENDANGERED: The Bush administration is planning to relax rules on endangered species before President-elect Barack Obama can reverse them. The rules must be published Friday to take effect before Obama is sworn in. Otherwise, he can undo them easily. From Wire Services
