Boy recovers from mishap
A 6-year-old boy is in good condition at an Oklahoma City hospital after his grandfather mistakenly crashed into him with his pickup. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Thacher Griffith of Shawnee was taken to Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center after the accident about 2:45 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at a home near Crescent. The patrol reported the boy’s grandfather, Lawrence James, 76, was attempting to back up when the pickup slipped into gear and pinned the child to the garage door, officials said.
