Professor gets grant for research
A University of Central Oklahoma professor has earned a top honor in his field.

Financial literacy program awarded
The national Institute for Financial Education recently recognized one of UCO's financial literacy education programs.
The university's "It Just Adds Up” program received the Excellence in Financial Literacy Education award. The program also received the award for curriculum of the year for children.
Created to acknowledge innovation, dedication and commitment of those supporting financial literacy education, the award recognizes the program as a leader within the field of financial literacy education.
The program provides a teaching guide and lessons that correlate to Oklahoma's standards in middle school math and personal finance literacy.
Piano players start concert series
Officials with the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation, based at Herbert W. Armstrong College, have announced the lineup for its performing arts series.
The 5 Browns, a group of piano-playing brothers and sisters, will start the season Nov. 17 with a classical piano performance at the John Amos Field House on the campus of Herbert W. Armstrong College, north of Edmond at 2501 W Simmons.
The next performance of the season will be Jan. 24 and will feature classical guitarists Angel Romero and Eliot Fisk.
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will conclude the series April 2.
