Professor earns grant for research
A University of Central Oklahoma professor has earned a top honor in his field.

Lee Tyner, who teaches human resource management, will be named the educator of the year at the HR Southwest, Human Resources Conference and Exposition in October. The award recognizes an educator who promotes the human resources profession. Tyner will receive a $1,000 grant to be used in his research or work in the area of human resources.

Financial program receives award
The national Institute for Financial Education recognized one of UCO's financial literacy education programs.
The "It Just Adds Up” program received the Excellence in Financial Literacy Education award. The program also received the award for curriculum of the year for children.

Piano performance to open series
Officials with the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation, based at Herbert W. Armstrong College, have announced the lineup for its performing arts series.

The 5 Browns, a group of piano-playing brothers and sisters, will start the season Nov. 17 with a classical piano performance at the John Amos Field House on the campus of Herbert W. Armstrong College, north of Edmond at 2501 W Simmons. For tickets or information go to www.armstrongcon
