SHOOTING VICTIM ID’d

Police have released the name of a man shot to death Sunday in south Tulsa. Michael Ray Thomas II, 26, of Coffeyville, Kan., was found dead in the street at 7611 S St. Louis Ave., police officer Leland Ashley said. Thomas had been shot several times, Ashley said. No suspect information has been released. Those with information about the shooting are asked to call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-2677. Those wanting to send a text message should begin the message with "tip918” before typing the tip. Messages should be sent to 274637.

CLINIC TO AID VETERANS

A veterans’ clinic could be open in Enid by the middle of next summer. Veteran Craig Vance of Enid is working with the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center and said the facility could open by June 1. Vance said the center would be operated by a contractor and could be located in a current local hospital run by a medical group. The current nearest veterans’ center to Enid is in Ponca City.

FIRE DESTROYS CITY BUILDING

More than 90 firefighters were called out early Sunday to battle a five-alarm fire that destroyed a former funeral home. The blaze started about 2:15 a.m. at the vacant Guardian Funeral Home building at 1133 N Robinson Ave., Oklahoma City fire Deputy Chief Cecil Clay said. It took several hours to put out the fire in the three-story building. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined, Clay said.
